With more than 40 years of experience, Dr. Gail Weingast stands as one of the most accomplished radiologists in the United States. Her career began in 1969 with undergraduate studies at Tufts University’s Jackson College, where she earned a degree in Spanish. Just a few years later, she shifted her focus to medicine, graduating from Boston University School of Medicine in 1976.
Training Across Specialties
Dr. Weingast’s medical training reflects her dedication to comprehensive care. At Colorado General Hospital in Denver, she completed a pediatrics internship, a pediatrics residency, a radiology residency, and a fellowship in ultrasound. She later refined her radiological expertise at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Denver.
A Career Spanning Multiple States
Following her training, Dr. Weingast practiced medicine in both Colorado and New York. These diverse experiences shaped her clinical perspective and enhanced her ability to serve patients with precision and compassion.
A Longstanding Role in Connecticut
For more than 20 years, Dr. Weingast has been part of William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. As Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, she has elevated the hospital’s radiology department into one of the most prominent in the region.
