Soon after Dr. Gail Weingast finished her medical education in 1983, having completed enough internships and residencies to be qualified as a radiologist, she worked at several hospitals in Colorado and New York, before she finally settled into the position she has called home for more than two decades. Now, Dr. Gail Weingast is considered a highly regarded radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she is the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. At Backus, she has created a department that is considered one of the best in the region.
While her path to her current important position wasn't always a straight line, Dr. Gail Weingast values every aspect of her journey because it all made her the doctor she is today. She is even fond of her first educational experience, where she attended Tufts University’s Jackson College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish because it had a hand in making her choose a medical career.
