The trajectory toward medicine wasn't always apparent for Gail Weingast. Commencing her education at Jackson College at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. However, the calling for medicine soon beckoned, prompting her enrollment at Boston University School of Medicine, where she attained her MD degree in 1976, thus assuming the title of Dr. Gail Weingast.
